He is a two-time Drama Desk Award nominee, an Evening Standard Award nominee, and a multiple Jeff Award, Helen Hayes Award, Barrymore Award, and Carbonell Award nominee. His work has been seen in New York City, across the country, and around the world.

He grew up aiming to be a dancer, and that love of movement infuses all of his work as a director whether it be a play or a musical. He wrote his first play following a mysterious murder that happened on his college campus which he felt he had to make sense of. His writing continues to offer him a place to grapple and wrestle with the world around him.
As a young artist he was fortunate to have his early endeavors received with great fanfare. The first time he got a negative review, it really shook him, but thankfully his agent at the time told him, "If you ever create something that people don't either love or hate, I'll drop you." Hyperbole to be sure, but he has always been grateful for those words which continue to encourage him to be bold and to embrace the fear that might accompany stepping outside the box whether that be with the most challenging work or the most crowd pleasing.

He is a firm believer that a failed attempt at greatness is far better than a perfect demonstration of mediocrity.
